ABSTRACT
FoxG1 is a conserved transcriptional repressor that plays key role in the specification, proliferation and differentiation of telencephalon, expressed from earliest stages telencephalic development through to adult. How interaction with co-factors might influence multiplicity diversity function not known. Here, we show TLE2, Xenopus tropicalis co-repressor Groucho/TLE family, crucial for regulating early activity FoxG1. We TLE2 co-expressed ventral telencephalon neural plate stage functionally cooperates an ectopic neurogenesis assay. has two potential TLE binding sites: N-terminal eh1 motif C-terminal YWPMSPF motif. Although direct seems be mediated by motif, both motifs appear important functional synergism. In assay, mutation either abolishes cooperation FoxG1, whereas forebrain deletion renders unable induce marker Nkx2.1. Knocking down or disrupts supporting idea endogenous work together specify telencephalon.
