ABSTRACT
The aims of this study were to use dynamic hepatocyte-specific contrast-enhanced MRI evaluate liver volume and function in cirrhosis, correlate the results with standard scoring models explore inhomogeneous distribution cirrhotic livers.10 patients cirrhosis 20 healthy volunteers, serving as controls, included. Hepatic extraction fraction (HEF), input relative blood flow mean transit time calculated on a voxel-by-voxel basis using deconvolutional analysis. Segmental total volumes well segmental hepatic capacity, expressed HEFml, calculated. An incongruence score (IS) was constructed reflect uneven function. Mann-Whitney U-test used for group comparison quantitative parameters, ISs. Correlations between parameters clinical scores assessed Spearman rank correlation.Patients had larger parenchymal volume, lower hepatocyte more compared controls. The demonstrates non-homogeneous nature underlines necessity test able compensate heterogeneous diseased parenchyma. The describes new way quantitatively assess uptake gadoxetate or gadolinium ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid whole level.
