ABSTRACT
A subarctic-boreal relict species, Salix lapponum, found within the area of Łęczna-Włodawa Lakeland (Eastern Poland), is particularly threatened with extinction due to southern limit its range and specific conditions occurrence. This conclusion evidenced by a systematic reduction in number locations, which accompanied decrease numbers individuals making up populations. The aim present study was determine habitat occurrence lapponum populations on basis an analysis physico-chemical factors groundwater at sites associated various stages succession taking place small peatland water bodies. The results this confirm trend that stands population species are decreasing intensification ecological degree progress same time show exhibits wide amplitude many investigated factors.Among parameters under investigation, low level total nitrogen, phosphorus fraction DOC as well high Ca, pH electrolytic conductivity can be considered set promote maintenance populations. On other hand, case nitrates, nitrites, sulphates Na, K Mg ions, Kruskal-Wallis statistical test showed distribution their values invariant relation studied habitats, probably evidence they do not development or these habitats.
