ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND Herpes zoster caused by the reactivation of latent varicella-zoster virus is thought to result from waning specific cell-mediated immunity. Scrub typhus, an acute infectious disease Orientia tsutsugamushi, affects multiple organs and characterized microangiopathies that in significant vascular leakage subsequent end-organ injury. Very few cases following scrub typhus occurrence have been reported. Furthermore, no previous studies directly investigated whether tsutsugamushi infection a potential risk factor for herpes zoster. CASE REPORT We present case 64-year-old woman without illness who simultaneously developed thoracic dermatome typhus. Clinical symptoms appeared during treatment course symptoms.
