ABSTRACT
Background:This study compared 22 different definitions of delayed graft function (DGF) following kidney transplantation. Material/Methods:Our included 497 transplantations from deceased donors at our center between 2005 and 2011.Graft survival analysis including log-rank tests Cox proportional hazards model was performed.Sensitivity specificity were calculated in relation to failure. Results:Mean follow-up time 5.1 years. All dialysis-based associated with failure characterized by high (88-97%), but low sensitivity (25-29%).Hazard ratios ranged 2.87 13.73, increased risk when dialysis required earlier more frequently. The urine output-based definition performed similarly, an association (96%), (21%).Serum creatinine-based heterogeneous.Higher (4-67%) found some these definitions, often lower (47-96%), losing the failure.Definitions combining criteria varied (17-62%) (60-96%).However, able achieve higher without compromising too much on specificity, while keeping Conclusions:Our results indicate a potential advantage combined because they are detect larger group recipients
