ABSTRACT
In this manuscript, thirty yellow-pigmented Gram-positive bacteria were isolated from natural intestine microflora and sea water around the marine cage of a rearing tank common dentex (Dentex dentex), in Aegean Sea on Turkish coast characterized. Eighteen isolates assigned to species Micrococcus luteus, other twelve Bacillus marisflavi. Eight representative strains, six B. marisflavi two M. chosen for further 16S rDNA analyses. A pathogenicity assay bacterial strains was carried out rainbow trout it evidenced absence tested strains. The vitro antagonistic activity against Listonella anguillarum, pathogen bacterium diffused Mediterranean aquaculture affecting various fish species. showed pathogenic bacterium, suggesting possible role as probiotics. study, first time, marisflavi, known an environmental species, recovered gut microbiota healthy fish. use characterized mainly is suggested probiotics improve health, along with alternative methods maintaining environment.
