ABSTRACT
<ns3:p>Aim During the COVID-19 pandemic, microscopy course as part of dental medical training in Leipzig, Germany, was offered both purely digitally and with reduced attendance time. The reformed regulations on licensing dentists (ZApprO; „Approbationsordnung für Zahnärzte und Zahnärztinnen“) now also provide necessary legal basis for curricular integration digital teaching formats. Aim this study is detailed evaluation relevant courses resulting design modern training. Methods Evaluation based subjective experiences students learning success objectively measured using a assessment course. Data collected form trend two consecutive years after completion second semester. Results Students were predominantly positive about integrated approach, which combines classroom elements. cohort that completed showed significantly better than cohort. Discussion Regardless continued importance practical studies, formats developed an emergency solution at beginning pandemic should be evaluated regard to their existing potential further expanded targeted manner.</ns3:p>
