ABSTRACT
STratifying Resilience and Depression Longitudinally (STRADL) is a population-based study built on the Generation Scotland: Scottish Family Health Study (GS:SFHS) resource. The aim of STRADL to subtype major depressive disorder (MDD) basis its aetiology, using detailed clinical, cognitive, brain imaging assessments. GS:SFHS provides an important opportunity complex gene-environment interactions, incorporating linkage existing datasets inclusion early-life variables for two longitudinal birth cohorts. Specifically, data collection in included: socio-economic lifestyle variables; physical measures; questionnaire that assesses resilience, adversity, personality, psychological health, lifetime history mood disorder; laboratory samples; cognitive tests; magnetic resonance imaging. Some were first assessed at baseline assessment between 2006-2011, thus providing measures depression resilience. Similarly, routine NHS are linked data, further opportunities analysis. Recruitment has been completed we consented tested 1,188 participants.
