ABSTRACT
Lipocalin 2 (Lcn2, NGAL) is a member of the lipocalin superfamily with diverse functions such as transport fatty acids and induction apoptosis. Previous reports indicated that expression Lcn2 induced under harmful conditions. However, mechanisms remain to be elucidated. In this report, we intended identify factor or factors induce expression. Up-regulation after X-ray exposure was detected in heart, kidney especially liver. Primary culture liver component cells revealed up-regulation hepatocytes. also HepG2 administration X-rays H(2)O(2). Interestingly, H(2)O(2) treatment canceled by addition anti-oxidants, dimethylsulfoxide cysteamine. These results strongly suggest reactive oxygen species. Therefore, could useful biomarker oxidative stress both vitro vivo.
