ABSTRACT
Tocopherols, known as members of vitamin E, are the major lipophilic antioxidants in soybean. Since soybean seeds contain a low concentration α-tocopherol (α-Toc), tocopherol isoform with highest E activity, some breeding efforts have been implemented to increase content seeds. In present study, we used F2 seed and plant (F3 seeds) populations derived from cross between variety high content, Keszthelyi A.S. (α-Toc 20–30%) Japanese cultivar, Ichihime < 10%) for genetic analysis concentration. There was no significant correlation total contents population, suggesting that were regulated independently Therefore, it may be possible without affecting content. Broad-sense heritability value trait estimated 0.645 seeds, highly heritable. Chi-square goodness-of-fit test evaluating relationship genotype certain SSR markers showed Sat_243 Sat_167 (linkage group K) significantly associated (P 0.05). These could marker-assisted selection breed cultivars concentrations. Analysis plants composition there negative γ-tocopherol concentrations, activity methyltransferase, enzyme converts α-tocopherol, is individuals
