ABSTRACT
Botryococcus braunii strain Austin and Berkeley cultured under the same conditions contained 27.4g 34.0g of lipids per 100g dry alga, respectively. The in former were 25.5% hydrocarbons, 58.8% other nonpolar lipids, 15.7% polar those latter 71.6%, 9.2%, 19.2%, Distinct differences also observed components especially latter, between strains. fatty acid composition lipid fraction was unique, oleic being 81% total acids.
