ABSTRACT
Endoscopy is a common, minimally invasive diagnostic technique that can be used to observe internal organs, e.g. the stomach, and obtain mucosal bioptic samples for histo pathological examination. The aim of this study was analyse concordance between endoscopic histological evaluation gastric diseases in dogs. One hundred twenty-nine medical records dogs undergoing gastroscopy have been received stored by Veterinary Hospital Perugia University (Perugia, Italy) 2009-2012. reports acute chronic gastritis or tumours assessed Cohen's k coe cient. Considering diagnosis as "gold standard", sensitivity, speci city, positive predictive value (PPV), negative (NPV) report calculated. Frequencies types di ered macroscopic microscopic analyses. agreement fair (0.35). showed sensitivity 45%, 88%, 100% gastritis, tumours, respectively; city 84%, 71%, 100%. NPV resulted 25% 93% 60 % tumours. results show endoscopy cannot performed screening exam, optimise both exam should conducted.
