ABSTRACT
Managing Shipping Emission Control Areas The design of emission control areas (ECAs) is crucial for reducing global shipping emissions and protecting the environment. In “Shipping Area Optimization Considering Carbon Reduction,” Zhuge, Wang, Zhen focus on ECA optimization problem sailing legs with ECAs. First, a case no-ECA policy current are discussed. Then, two new voyage-dependent policies sulfur limits, designated paths, speed limits proposed, under which Stackelberg game models regulator company developed. authors extend research from leg to network improve practicality findings. They also develop dynamic programming-based algorithm optimize perspective regulator. effectiveness proposed in social costs validated by numerical experiments.
