ABSTRACT
Thrombosis of the palmar digital veins is relatively rare, typically reported in women aged 35-65 years and most commonly occurring on fourth digit. Clinical presentation varies lesion can present fingers or palms hands. Diagnosis may be suspected clinically confirmed histology radiologically. The condition managed conservatively surgically. A 58-year-old woman presented with a 3-month history tender, skin-coloured nodule her right palm. This was surgically excised, histopathological diagnosis thrombosed varix. As no underlying medical issues were raised further testing, it thought that varix likely secondary to repeated trivial mechanical trauma, given she housewife. literature review yielded 36 cases varix, including our case. Most (85.3%) occurred females, mean age patients 51.67 years, two-thirds between 35 65 age. digit proximal interphalangeal joint affected sites, respectively. Although doctors should consider possibility when tender nodules fingers.Thrombosis rare but occur trauma hypercoagulable states.Physicians firm hand fingers, especially since some associated states which have more serious sequelae.
