ABSTRACT
This study aimed to determine the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites in alpacas raised Japan. From December 2010 October 2011, 53 (Vicugna pacos) at a farm Kanto region, Japan, were examined for by 3 fecal tests: direct smear, centrifuged flotation and formalin-ether sedimentation. Eggs Nematodirus sp. found 13.2%, Trichuris 11.3%, Capillaria spp. 5.7%, strongyle-type 50.9% Moniezia 1.9%. Oocysts Eimeria punoensis and/or E. alpacae 69.8%, lamae 1.9% macusaniensis 7.5%. We that Japan have parasitic fauna similar those other countries.
