ABSTRACT
We recently generated a monoclonal antibody immunoglobulin G1 (MAb 10G5), which can recognize 15- to 17-kDa antigens, virulence-associated antigens of Rhodococcus equi, and developed colony blot enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay with MAb 10G5 for the rapid identification virulent R. equi. In this epidemiologic study, we evaluated results test in isolates equi from feces horses soil compared them those conventional procedure (plasmid profiles by agarose gel electrophoresis). Environmental (778 foals, 170 dams, 1, 267 on horse-breeding farms Hokkaido) were tested immunoblot test, 238 778 isolates, 6 85 showed positive signals. Positive then analyzed presence virulence plasmid DNA, 235 (98.7%) (100%) 75 (88.2%) plasmids. On other hand, 50 each source, randomly selected that negative signals immunoblot, did not contain These demonstrated uses specific is reliable
