A new remarkable species of Athyreus MacLeay (Coleoptera, Scarabaeoidea, Geotrupidae, Bolboceratinae) from Brazil

Athyreus MacLeay, 1819 is one of the most diverse genera within Athyreini, with 45 species in Central and South America; 24 are recorded from Brazil. Here, we describe a remarkable multi-horned species, joseferreirai sp. nov. Brazil, illustrations male holotype female paratype map for type locality. The A. has seven horns pronotum, character not observed any its congener species.
