ABSTRACT
The study aimed to evaluate the effect of whey supplemented in mixed feed diet on growth performance, carcass quality and meat characteristics as well hematological parameters growing Sonali chicken. Three hundred sixty, day-old chicks were procured from government poultry development breeding farm, Sylhet. They randomly divided into four dietary treatments (T0 - control group; T1 with drinking water; T2 -whey fermented T3 commercial feed) three replications each group (n=30X3) reared for 8 weeks. Feed intake was recorded regular basis performance (g) observed fortnightly. result showed that oral feeding reduced but increased dressing percentage (63.4%) weight gain (424.73±2.23) than other groups significance (p<0.05), lead better FCR (2.69±0.03) followed by T0 (2.79±0.03), (2.94±0.03), (2.97±0.03) respectively. Similarly, CP, CF, TA, EE NFE content (%) different cuts varied significantly (p=0.001) highest DM% (28.70±0.75) thigh meat, reflect total yield CP% while no variation containing good count RBC (2.97±0.04) WBC (2.22±0.04) within standard range which implied immunity health condition chickens. In general, addition water it can be concluded incorporation through administration seems save time raise revenue.
