ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Australian universities generate substantial incomes from foreign students. Therefore, it is important to obtain information about these students enable effective overseas marketing and delivery of services. This study focused on Asian students, who tend experience difficulty while studying in Australia, with an sample 111 being drawn the three South universities. Reasons for Australia varied widely, evidence four distinct student segments, but no dominant selection criterion any segment. Roughly one-quarter respondents had experienced significant problems living including communication, homesickness loneliness. Significant variation was found study-related difficulties, segments again identified. Only 17% a range serious problems, communication pressure work, 40% involving fear failure expectations home. Respondents tended evaluate university services as only moderately satisfactory.
