AbstractAbstractBackground: Fibromyalgia (FM) is a soft-tissue disease of unknown origin. It causes pain and stiffness, often with chronic fatigue, disrupted sleep, headaches irritable bowel. affects an estimated six million Americans which 80 to 90 percent are female.Objective: To determine whether dietary intake protein, Tryptophan, Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) meet Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) recommendations, there difference in animal vegetable protein subjects FM compared healthy controls.Methods: Thirty equal number controls completed Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) regarding over the previous month. The FFQs were then computer analyzed intake.Results: Protein all was more than adequate DRI recommendations no significant BCAA, or protein. Subjects had significantly higher body weight Body Mass Index (BMI) controls, reported having incidence Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) symptoms controls.Conclusion: There amounts controls. Significant differences BMI might be related less physical activity possibly malabsorption problems associated IBS.
