ABSTRACT
In this research, it has been performed carbon activation of oil palm shells (CAC) prepared by chemical treatment as adsorbents phenol and methylene blue (MB) in solution either the form single or pair solution. The from was done physically at a temperature 700°C for 1 hour continued with using 10% H3PO4 24 hours. Identification functional groups on shell before after chemically activated infrared spectrophotometer (IR) analysis its surface morphology carried out scanning electron microscope (SEM). MB adsorption process binary systems batch method. CAC is optimum pH 8 while 11 contact time 90 min 120 respectively. data system follow pseudo-second-order kinetics model rate constant 0.399 0.769 g mmol-1 min-1 isotherms tend to Freundlich isotherm pattern intensity factor (n) phenol, MB, phenol/MB, MB/phenol: 1.739, 1.341, 1.334, 1.293 adsorbent effective remove solution, paired condition.
