ABSTRACT
Mongolia is the first Asian country to launch universal ultrasound screening for newborns with developmental dysplasia of hip (DDH). The aims this study were determine coverage and treatment rate programme.Data from birth statistics 29 hospitals retrospectively reviewed (2010 2016, pre-nationwide phase; 2017 2019, nationwide programme). DDH was diagnosed using Graf-technique treated according 'ABCD', a modified Graf classification (Group A: Type 1, mature; B: 2a, physiologically immature; C: 2c 3, early DDH; D: 4, dislocated). Group B children followed monthly ultrasound. C D flexion abduction orthosis (Tübingen). Screeners used web-based platform upload images quality surveillance.Between 230 079 live births registered 176 388 screened. in increased 73.6% 82.1% 2019. A (148 510 children, 84.2%) discharged, while (25 820, 14.6%) followed. Among B, 284 cases worsened were, therefore, Tübingen orthosis. remaining 2058 (1.2%) orthosis, including 1999 59 D. Since 2017, total 142 860 (81.0%) sonograms uploaded platform.A simplified diagnostic therapeutic framework successfully deployed Mongolia, developing country, providing high surveillance appropriate treatment.Level evidence: IV.
