The Effect of Chinemys reevesii Gray Pharmacopuncture for Women with Knee Osteoarthritis

ABSTRACT
Objectives : The aim of this study is to determine whether Chinemys reevesii Gray pharmacopuncture a clinically effective treatment for women with knee osteoarthritis. Methods Female patients osteoarthritis were recruited from May 1, 2014 April 15, 2015 at the Department Acupuncture & Moxibustion Medicine Dong-Eui University Korean Medical Hospital. Patients randomly assigned two groups. 4.0 ml was injected acupuncture points experimental group(n = 24) twice week three weeks. control received 5 % dextrose injections in order identically stimulate same ST35, ST34, SP9, SP10, GB34, LR8, EX-LE4, and EX-LE2. Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire(SF-MPQ), Western Ontario McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(KWOMAC), European Quality Life-5 Dimensions(EQ-5D) recorded evaluate efficacy first visit, after weeks four initial visit. Results 40 completed trial. group showed more significant improvement than scores SF-MPQ, KWOMAC, EQ-5D. However, there no difference between groups few assessment scales. Conclusions can be an pain, function health-related quality life
