ABSTRACT
Based on the one-year hourly water temperature profiles and associated environmental drivers during past eight years in Shahe Reservoir, Jiangsu Province, China from 2009 to 2016, factors underlying seasonal variation of thermal stratification quality response were investigated. It was shown that a typical subtropical one-cycle mixing model, lasting May September. The appeared disappeared when surface 21 ℃ late spring 19 middle autumn. difference between at epilimnion hypolimnion increased with increasing solar radiation. When air above 30 ℃, stability increased. Heavy storms reduced weakened column 5 m depth but had limited impact deeper than m. greatly impacted lake. Hypoxia bottom occurred by stratification, leading NH4+-N. concentrations dissolved oxygen, total phosphorus, suspended solids after disappearance stratification. Our results indicated mainly controlled radiation favored growth cyanobacteria led release nutrients sediment, threatening quality. Attention should be paid prevent algal blooms related deterioration.
