ABSTRACT
A total of 351 surface soil samples (0-20 cm) were collected from the Luanhe River Basin in Chengde City (a typical area concentrated mineral resources) and analyzed for 12 heavy metals (Cu, Ni, Cd, Cr, Pb, Zn, Hg, V, Ti, Mn, As, Co). The geochemical baseline values determined using reference element method cumulative frequency curve method. Furthermore, spatial structure distribution characteristics assessed based on PCA geostatistical analysis. accumulation metal pollution different types association with land use patterns was also evaluated a geological accumulative index. results showed that Co soils higher than their background Hebei Province. In contrast, Cu, Hg lower values. average index followed order Cd > Pb Cu Ti Mn Zn Cr Ni V As. More 80% categorized as having no or moderate Co, while over 70% Cr. With respect to types, fluvo-aquic soil>cinnamon soil>brown soil. industrial mining shrub forest agricultural woodland grassland. relatively high comparison other elements, 27.69% 25.38% being above level, respectively. iron group elements are likely derive naturally sources, As associated combination parent material anthropogenic inputs. mainly influenced by human activities.
