ABSTRACT
Exploration of the spatiotemporal changes in fractional vegetation cover (FVC) and its response characteristics to urbanization is great significance for urban ecological protection planning Beijing. This study analyzed Beijing from 2000 2020 using Theil-Sen Median Mann-Kendall methods based on a long-term time series dataset. Then, this used index as key indicator spatial utilized transect line global grid analysis investigate FVC different gradients. The results indicated that: ① showed temporal heterogeneity. From 2020, was predominantly covered by high vegetation, accounting 65.22% total area, which mainly distributed conservation areas consistent with Jundu, Xishan, Yaji Mountain ranges. presented an overall positive development trend, decreasing trend low FVC. increase significant (by 28.68%), within range 10-12 km concentric circles centered around Tiananmen Square. change rate were relatively Haidian District, Chaoyang Fengtai Shijingshan Changping District. ② artificial land surface 2000, 2010, 9.69%, 13.64%, 21.19%, respectively, agglomeration strong During process Beijing, reached 11.5%, conversion arable 53.83% use area. ③ There negative correlation between index, indicating that had impact regional However, stabilized, tended gradually weaken. Although central characterized FVC, there increasing improvement quality, closely related governance mountain-water-forest-field-lake-grass-sand system. can provide basis restoration programs management measures
