ABSTRACT
The liberalization process undertaken by the Indian economy in recent times has thrown up many challenges. This paper investigates factors explaining industrial efficiency India and whether there been a change these since was ushered 1991. of firms during period 1991 to 2001, using concept frontier production functions. Estimates inefficiency have obtained for 23 industry groups Capitaline Ole′ database three years 1991, 1995 2001.
