ABSTRACT
The state of the art silicon optical fibers fabricated via high pressure chemical deposition technique will be reviewed. transmission properties step index presented, including investigations nonlinearities that can used for all-optical signal processing. In addition, alternative complex fiber geometries permit sophisticated control propagating light introduced.
