Application of laser cleaning in postwelding treatment of aluminum alloy

ABSTRACT
This paper presents a new method of postweld treatment. The 5154 aluminum alloy was cleaned by Nd:YAG laser after welding. surface morphology, energy spectrum, friction and wear properties, hardness, residual stress the welded joint at different cleaning speeds were studied. results show that an can effectively remove welding slag eliminate pores in weld under certain speed. When speed is range 5.2–20.7 mm/s, improve heat-affected zone’s tribological characteristics. Laser joint’s strength, which provides reference for instead traditional heat
