ABSTRACT
To improve particle radiotherapy, we need a better understanding of the biology radiation effects, particularly in heavy ion therapy, where global responses are observed despite energy deposition only subset cells. Here, integrated high-speed swept confocally-aligned planar excitation (SCAPE) microscope into focused beam irradiation platform to allow real-time 3D structural and functional imaging living biological samples during after irradiation. We demonstrate dynamic acute effects on cultures U87 human glioblastoma cells, revealing characteristic changes cellular movement intracellular calcium signaling following ionizing
