Novel biosensors employing whispering-gallery-mode microshell resonators are demonstrated. Thermo-optical biosensing detects urea, while refractive index-based show high sensitivity to gold coated nanoparticles, promising applications in biochemical sensing for medical, environmental, and food safety.
