ABSTRACT
A hybrid approach incorporates traveling-wave amplifier stages into the Mach- Zehnder modulator (MZM) to reduce area and power improve bandwidth in a 90-nm silicon photonic (SiPh) CMOS process. Optical measurements demonstrate data rates up 30 Gb/s.
