ABSTRACT
We report on the design and demonstration of an optical imaging system capable exciting surface-bound fluorophores within resonant evanescent electric field a photonic crystal surface gathering fluorescence emission that is directed toward objective by crystal. The also has ability to quantify shifts in local resonance angle induced adsorption biomolecules for label-free biomolecular imaging. With these two capabilities combined single detection system, we demonstrate images self-registered enhanced with 328x more sensitive relative glass surface. This technique applied DNA microarray where quantification immobilized capture enables improved quality control subsequent dye-tagged hybridized yields 3x genes be detected versus commercially available substrates.
