ABSTRACT
We report a highly sensitive fiber-optic sensor based on two cascaded intrinsic fiber Fabry-Perot interferometers (IFFPIs).The IFFPIs have different free spectral ranges (FSRs) and are formed by short section of hollow core photonic crystal sandwiched single mode fibers. With the superposition reflective spectrum with FSRs, Vernier effect will be generated in proposed we found that strain sensitivity can improved from 1.6 pm/με for IFFPI to 47.14 employing effect. The embed metglas ribbon also used measure magnetic field according similar principle. The measurement is achieved 71.57pm/Oe significantly larger than 2.5 pm/Oe sensor.
