ABSTRACT
In this paper, a simple novel digital modulation format identification (MFI) scheme for coherent optical systems is proposed. The based on the evaluation of peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) incoming data samples after analog-to-digital conversion (ADC), chromatic dispersion (CD) and polarization mode demultiplexing (PMD) compensation at receiver (Rx). Since particular optical-signal-to-noise (OSNR) value different formats have distinct PAPR values, it possible to identify them. proposed results are analyzed both experimentally through numerical simulations. demonstrate successful among four (MF) commonly used in systems.
