ABSTRACT
A large optofluidic compound eye is developed by using a straightforward, rapid, and low-cost technique. The eye's angle of view can be adjusted injecting deionized water/calcium chloride solution different volume into the chip. Optofluidic eyes containing about 78,000 microlenses 50 μm diameter are fabricated for analysis. tuned up to 104°. With deformation, microlenses' focal length increases, due variation in profile. Owing non-uniform strain over eye, central lenses experience more variation. Furthermore, optical imaging demonstrated sharp images obtained from omnidirectional microlenses.
