ABSTRACT
We report on a compact diode-pumped, chirped pulse regenerative amplifier system with duration of 162 fs and an output energy 1 mJ before as well 910 µ J after compression optimized for the probing ultrafast relativistic laser-plasma processes. A volume Bragg grating (CVBG) acts combined stretcher/compressor representing robust solution CPA laser in millijoule range. Yb 3+ :CaF 2 is used gain medium to support large bandwidth 16 nm (FWHM) when spectral shaping applied. Chirped mirrors compensate any additional dispersion introduced system.
