ABSTRACT
Lasers are often used to characterize samples in a non-destructive manner and retrieve sensing information transduced changes amplitude phase. In swept wavelength interferometry, wavelength-tunable laser is measure the complex response (i.e. phase) of an optical sample. This technique leverages continuous advances rapidly tunable lasers widely for sensing, bioimaging testing photonic integrated components. However, requires additional calibration step because, practice, it does not tune at constant rate. this work, we use self-referenced frequency comb as ruler calibrate swept-wavelength interferometry domain reflectometry. allows realizing high-resolution spectroscopy over bandwidth exceeding 10 THz. We apply characterization low-loss devices demonstrate that phase can disentangle intrinsic from coupling losses high-Q microresonators. also reflection mode, where resolve attenuation dispersion characteristics long spiral waveguides.
