Enhanced optical forces in 2D hybrid and plasmonic waveguides

ABSTRACT
We investigate the optical gradient force in 2D hybrid and plasmonic waveguides. By comparing with conventional dielectric waveguides, we show that can be enhanced by at least 1 order of magnitude waveguides due to strongly fields waveguide surfaces. compare coupled different geometries, including rectangular, circular, triangular cross sections find rectangular provide strongest force. also enhancement is nonresonant thus used for a broad range wavelengths.
