ABSTRACT
The electro-optic effect is an important mechanism for actively tuning the refractive index of materials. This has various applications in communication, switching, modulation, and nonlinear optics. research measured quadratic coefficient a graphene oxide (GO) film with ellipsometry spectroscopy. results show that this about three orders magnitude greater than other GO its giant Kerr can improve devices based on effect. For example, it decrease power consumption complexity these due to need lower electric field. In addition, birefringence obtained Δn = 0.08 at 730 nm, which lead promising improvements commercial devices, such as reduction working voltage below 10 V.
