ABSTRACT
Simultaneous blue-red emission in a fiber pumped by single wavelength source is perceived as great challenge because of the large energy difference emitted photons. This Letter reports dependence blue-to-red upconversion (UC) ratio Yb3+-Tm3+ codoped fluorosilicate glasses (FSGs) under excitation 980-nm laser on host glass silica content. Photoluminescence spectra and SEM-EDS are used to clarify UC mechanism, indicating that probability cross-relaxation (CR) process 1G4 + 3F2→3H6 3F4 key dominance blue or red emissions. research can provide new platform for variable luminescence.
