Simultaneous improvement of the sensitivity and resolution of CPT magnetometers based on phase delay and differential method

ABSTRACT
We report a method to enhance the sensitivity of coherent population trapping (CPT) magnetometers using combination left-handed and right-handed circularly polarized light phase-delay detection differential scheme. The approach can achieve four third-fold enhancement CPT dispersion signal slope three-fold reduction in noises. proposed experimentally exhibits magnetic field resolution open-loop measurements, could 1 p T / H z at 10 Hz 0.4 50–100 closed-loop measurement, which is four-fold compared single-transmitted magnetometer.
