ABSTRACT
Based on numerical studies of apertured metallic nanocavity structures, we describe a new intra-particle plasmonic interaction pathway that couples the plasmon resonance modes aperture edge and cavity. In contrast to inter-particle coupling schemes require precisely arrayed nanoparticles, this scheme achieves tunability in wavelength using single standalone nanostructure. addition, when is made sharp, it functions dually as tip amplifies its near-field producing local filed enhancement effect. We investigate details mechanism identify dominant role mode determining efficiency numerically. The model results good agreement with recent experimental results. This will help monolithic integration functionalities application for nanoscale spectroscopy biological structures vivo.
