ABSTRACT
A remarkable feature of Alvarez lenses is that a wide focal length tuning range can be achieved using lateral displacement rather than commonly used axial translation, thus, reducing the overall varifocal imaging systems. Here, we present novel lens elements based on actuated by dielectric elastomer (DE). The proposed are composed component and scanning component. Based elements, an system built to realize ultra-wide with selectable region interest. have variable focus function structure DE actuator DE-based four-quadrant actuators. large deformation generated actuators permits up 1.145 mm. variation 30.5 times, where maximum 181 mm minimum 5.94 rise fall times 160 ms 295 ms, respectively. By applying different voltages actuators, allows move in directions endows interest capability. 17.57°. resolution approximately lp/mm. developed current study has potential consumer electronics, endoscopy, microscopy future.
