ABSTRACT
Functional oocytes are produced through complex molecular and cellular processes. In particular, the contribution of post-transcriptional gene regulation mediated by RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) is crucial for controlling proper expression during this process. DAZL (deleted in azoospermia-like) one RBPs required sexual differentiation primordial germ cells progression meiosis ovulated oocytes. However, involvement development follicular still unknown. Here, we show that Dazl translationally suppressed a 3′-UTR-dependent manner oocytes, suppression normal pre-implantation development. We found occurred postnatal concomitant with formation follicles, whereas mRNA was continuously expressed throughout oocyte development, raising possibility dispensable survival growth Indeed, oocyte-specific knockout resulted production number pups. On other hand, genetically modified female mice overexpress fewer numbers pups than control due to defective Our data suggest an important mechanism functional
