ABSTRACT
The risk of unintended pregnancy is high in the postpartum period, especially during first year delivery. Yet, short birth intervals are associated with increased adverse maternal and infant outcomes. In Kenya, despite women having multiple contacts healthcare providers their journeys, uptake contraceptives period remains low. We examine factors that determine contraceptive use among Kitui County, Kenya.A cross-sectional study was conducted six sub-counties County covering a random sample 768 April 2019. Logistic regression used to association between 0-23 months several explanatory variables included socio-demographic characteristics facility-level factors. Overall, 68% reported using contraceptives. likelihood increase number known family planning methods. Women who discussed health worker within last 12 were 2.58 (95%CI: 1.73, 3.89) times more likely compared those did not. There an odds received information or service postnatal care than not (aOR = 2.04, 95%CI: 1.30, 3.24). A positive also found receipt immunization visits child well visits. It evident such as discussing women; educating about different methods; providing services care, immunization, by period. Programs targeting enhancing women's attendance clinics should be encouraged.
