ABSTRACT
Preparation of monodisperse vesicles is important both for research purposes and practical applications. While the extrusion through small pores (∼100 nm in diameter) results relatively uniform populations vesicles, to larger sizes very heterogeneous vesicles. Here we report a simple method preparing large multilamellar combination large-pore dialysis. For example, polydisperse 5-µm-diameter eliminates than 5 µm diameter. Dialysis extruded against 3-µm-pore-size polycarbonate membranes smaller 3 diameter, leaving behind population with mean diameter ∼4 µm. The simplicity this makes it an effective tool laboratory vesicle preparation potential applications liposomes drug delivery.
