ABSTRACT
The essential oil extracted from the seeds of dill (Anethum graveolens L.) was demonstrated in this study as a potential source an eco-friendly antifungal agent. To elucidate mechanism action further, effect on plasma membrane and mitochondria Aspergillus flavus investigated. lesion detected through flow cytometry further verified inhibition ergosterol synthesis. caused morphological changes cells A. reduction quantity. Moreover, mitochondrial (MMP), acidification external medium, ATPase dehydrogenase activities were detected. reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation also examined fluorometric assay. Exposure to resulted elevation MMP, suppression glucose-induced decrease pH at 4 µl/ml. Decreased observed dose-dependent manner. above dysfunctions ROS flavus. A cell viability prevented addition L-cysteine, which indicates that is important mediator oil. In summary, activity results its ability disrupt permeability barrier dysfunction-induced
