ABSTRACT
Traceability through physical labels is well established, but it not highly reliable as can be easily changed or lost. Application of DNA markers to the traceability food plays an increasingly important role for consumer protection and confidence building. In this study, we tested efficiency 16 polymorphic microsatellites their combinations tracing 368 fish four populations where they originated. Using maximum likelihood Bayesian methods, three most efficient were required assign over 95% correct populations. Selection based on assignment score estimated with software WHICHLOCI was effective in choosing individual assignment, followed by selection allele number markers. By combining rapid extraction, high-throughput genotyping selected microsatellites, possible conduct routine genetic high accuracy Asian seabass.
