ABSTRACT
Epilepsy is associated with an abnormal expression of neural oscillations and their synchronization across brain regions. Oscillatory activation also play important role in cognition, perception motor control. Childhood epilepsy a variety cognitive deficits, but the relationship between altered functional responses various frequency ranges impairment these children remains poorly understood. We investigated magnetoencephalographic (MEG) from cortex multiple functionally relevant bands following median nerve stimulation twelve epilepsy, including four impairments. demonstrated that impairments exhibit excessive gamma-band response Rolandic cortex, magnitude this gamma negatively function. Abnormal were ictal desynchronization within measured using intracranial EEG (iEEG). These results provide evidence disruption networks which turn impairment.
